NAWLA's committee structure was enhanced during 2002 to involve more members. Board members, committee members and staff recruit committee members on a regular basis. Those who get involved range from CEO's of large companies, lumber traders from small companies, and everyone in between. Communications Committee
The NAWLA Communications Committee focus is researching and crafting programs and services that will provide NAWLA members with the industry’s most up-to-date information. The Communications Committee meets monthly via telephone conference call as well as face-to-face twice a year at the Executive Conference and the NAWLA Traders Market^® Staff Liaison: Nicholas Kent, Ext. 27

Education Committee
The NAWLA Education Committee focuses on providing NAWLA members educational programs and events throughout the year. NAWLA members can learn the most up-to-date information on business planning, sales techniques, importing and exporting and management skills. For those relatively new to the lumber industry or for whom some basic information would help them in their new career, the NAWLA Wood Basics Course is offered. For those with a little more experience, the NAWLA Sales Training Workshop is available. Other educational offerings include the NAWLA Management School, the self-paced, mentor guided Sales Training Course, and programs offered at the Spring Conference and before and during the NAWLA Traders Market^®. Magellan Club
The NAWLA Magellan Club is an international group focusing on enhancing the professionalism of seasoned and rookie global traders through education and networking opportunities. The Magellan Club typically meets annually at the NAWLA Traders Market^®. Staff Liaison: Nick Kent, Ext. 27

Meetings Committee
The NAWLA Meetings Committee is a new 2005 addition to the NAWLA committee roster. The committee meets monthly via telephone conference call and face-to-face twice per year. The committee's primary areas of concentration centers around the content and scope of the NAWLA Regional Meetings, and the NAWLA Spring Conference. Staff Liaison: Mark Palmer, Ext. 26

Membership Committee
The NAWLA Membership Committee works diligently all year to grow the association by targeting qualified companies within the lumber and building products industry. In addition, the committee continues to build/maintain relationships within the membership and with industry associations, developing membership retention initiatives and a continuous focus on improving NAWLA member benefits and services. NAWLA Traders Market^® Committee
The NAWLA Traders Market^® Committee works very hard all year to plan and promote this fantastic event. The committee is continually looking at areas for improvement, which leads to new ideas and new energy.
