I'm pleased to share with you that Scott Parker, MBA, CAE has been selected, and will begin as, NAWLA's Executive Director on July 16.
Scott is an executive with a successful track record of leading associations. He has over 15 years of senior level experience in management, business development and working with boards of directors. He currently serves as the associate executive director of the Water Quality Association. Prior to WQA, Scott served as the director of membership and career services at APICS - an association representing the supply chain and logistics industries. Needless to say, while he will hit the ground running to learn about the forest products industry, his previous experience is naturally transferrable to association management within our industry. We are confident Scott is the right choice to lead the NAWLA staff.
He lives in the suburbs of Chicago. If serving as NAWLA's staff executive won't keep him busy enough, he also is married with three kids ages 14, 9, and 8, and coaches football, baseball, hockey, basketball, and volleyball for their teams.
There will be an approximately two-week timeframe where both Marc Saracco and Scott Parker will be on board, allowing ample time for transition.
