Randy Foster - Stoel Rives LLP

Randy Foster is a partner of the firm representing clients in business and intellectual property litigation, marketing, antitrust and trade regulation matters. He has handled matters for clients across a broad range of industries, including electronics, software, wood products, biotechnology, health care, petroleum products, advertising, telecommunications, retailing and motor vehicles. He is a frequent lecturer and author on issues associated with civil litigation, antitrust and the protection of intellectual property. Randy has served on the firm's Executive Committee and is the former lead partner for client relations. He has also served as practice group leader for the firm's intellectual property practice.
Before joining Stoel Rives, Randy was a legislative assistant to U.S. Senator Frank Church from 1974 to 1978.

David Helmers

David Helmers – Weyerhaeuser

As Vice President of Distribution, David is responsible for over 20 distribution centers and multiple reloads located throughout the U.S. to support building material dealers and one-steppers.  Prior to this role, he led Distribution's team focused on developing the business including national product management, business process improvement, pricing process and specification support; a role he started in 2010. During his 20+ year career with Weyerhaeuser and Trus Joist, he has held numerous leadership positions, including Residential Segment Lead, Strategic Marketing, Sales and Operations Planning, Manufacturing Management and Corporate Safety and Environmental Leadership. Before joining Weyerhaeuser, he worked as an engineer for CH2M Hill and the U.S. Navy’s Nuclear Propulsion Program. David holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, and a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Central Florida.   David’s community interests focus on supporting disadvantaged youth, including providing family foster care for newborn babies over the last 12 years.

John Becker-Blease

John Becker-Blease – Oregon State University

John Becker-Blease is an associate professor of finance at Oregon State University, and was previously on faculty at Washington State University, Vancouver. He holds a Ph.D. in finance from the University of Oregon, where he graduated in 2002. His research interests are in corporate governance, valuation, and innovation. He has taught a wide-range of courses across the finance discipline at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, as well as professional seminars for the College of Forestry, the  at Oregon State University, the City of Vancouver, and for the government of Trinidad and Tobago. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Oregon State Faculty Senate, as the Chair of the graduate curriculum committee in the college of business, and the Oregon University System Retirement Plans Investment Committee.

Scott Olsen

Scott Olsen – The Olsen Group

Scott Olsen brings a combination of accomplishment and understanding of business matched with success in training individuals and groups.  After completing his undergraduate work in Economics at the University of Washington, Scott has developed innovative training methods throughout his career that produce dramatic increases in productivity and customer satisfaction in a variety of organizations, including WebMD, Yahoo! and Apple.  With a combination of skills and knowledge, Scott successfully advances management, leadership, sales, negotiation and interpersonal skills. He tailors each session to the particular needs of the group in which he is involved. Scott founded The Olsen Group in 1999. In addition to training, Scott provides personal career counseling for individuals and corporations.

Eric Hansen

Eric Hansen – Oregon State University

Eric received a B.S. in Forest Products Business Management from the University of Idaho in 1990. He completed his PhD in the spring of 1994 at Virginia Tech, specializing in Forest Products Marketing. He began working for OSU in August 1994 and was promoted to Full Professor in the Department of Wood Science and Engineering in 2005. His current research areas are organizational innovation, corporate social responsibility, and strategic marketing.  During a sabbatical in Finland (2000-2001) he co-authored a textbook, Strategic Marketing in the Global Forest Industries. The book is now available in its 2nd edition (2011). He teaches marketing and innovation topics at OSU. For over a decade he has annually hosted industry managers on campus for the continuing education course Forest Products Management Development. Internationally he actively works with the US-based Softwood Export Council where he is currently the Chairman. He also serves as the President of the Society of Wood Science and Technology.

Daniel Wong

Daniel Wong – Portland State University

Daniel has over 20 years of progressive leadership expertise in transportation, supply chain management, business system and strategy consulting. Most recently with Vestas where he was the Global category, sourcing manager.  Prior to that, Daniel was the Vice President of Logistics and Supply Chain Management at North Pacific.  North Pacific, a Portland based wholesale distributor of building materials, industrial wood products and other specialty products with sales over $1.2 billion annually.  Daniel served as the director of supply chain process improvement at Longview Fibre Company in Longview, Washington.  At Sapient, he led their Asian expansions and launched Sapient’s consulting subsidiary in Tokyo, Japan.  Daniel’s background also includes studying the impacts globalization, information technology development and business management framework.  He received a bachelor degree in electrical engineering from Oregon State University and a Master degree in the management of science and technology from the school of OGI/Oregon Health and Science University.  He is a past treasurer for the North American Rail shippers association.  He is also a past president and current board member for the Pacific Northwest Association of Rail shippers.
