2018 Speaker

Pierre Moreau, Quebec’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources

Before being elected for the first time in 2003, Pierre Moreau was a lawyer specializing in the field of municipal law for over 20 years.  As well as being an elected member of Quebec’s National Assembly for over more than 10 years, Minister Moreau has held numerous offices:  Chief Government Whip, Minister responsible for Intergovernmental Affairs, Minister of Transport, Minister of Municipal Affairs, Acting Minister of Public Security, Minister of Education, Minister for Finance and President of the Treasury Board. On October 11th 2017, he became, Quebec’s 28th Minister of Energy and Natural Resources.

Forests are one of Quebec’s most important natural resources. For this reason, the Quebec Government has chosen to ensure their sustainability and foster their contribution to the socio-economic development of the province. Quebecers can be proud to have one of the best forest regimes in the world, along with the expertise needed to manage it in a sustainable way.
