Nicholas R. Kent

Nick has served as NAWLA's CEO since 1988, and now has 32 years of association management experience within the construction building materials and forest products industries. Additionally, he is Secretary/Treasurer of the NAWLA Services Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of NAWLA. In addition to being a former U.S. Air Force officer and a 1973 graduate of the West Virginia University School of Forestry, he is a member of the American Lumber Standard Committee, the National Association of Wholesale-Distribution Association Executives Council and the international Who's Who of Professionals. Nick has also served as Executive Director of the Northwestern Lumber Association and was with the Associated General Contractors of America in Washington, DC.
Mark Palmer

Mark brings over 20 years experience in the building products and millwork association industries. Mark has extensive experience in all levels of association work also as the former Executive & CEO of the Association of Millwork Distributors. His varied background includes association management, meeting/convention planning, education, membership and marketing positions, graphics and desktop publishing. Mark is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP). He is the liaison to the NAWLA Membership Committee and is responsible for office administration, marketing and staff activities. Mark also conducts numerous member visits, and attends industry trade shows throughout the year.
Jennifer Chan

Jennifer joined the staff in June of 2000. She has over 14 years of experience in different aspects of accounting, and her background includes Commercial Business Banking, Telecommunications and Real Estate. She received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from The University of Illinois at Chicago. As NAWLA’s full-charge staff accountant, Jennifer is responsible for all areas of accounting and HR functions in the office, and assists external auditors in annual year-end audit of books and records through preparation of all required schedules.

Barbara has been with NAWLA since February 1989. She assists with the daily correspondence and helps the management staff with a variety of office duties. She also manages the registration for NAWLA’s Regional meetings and the different NAWLA Educational programs, including Teachers Tours, and coordinates logistics for NAWLA materials shipped to and from various meeting sites. Barb works closely with the NAWLA Office Manager Sheila Smith to coordinate the efficient distribution and mailing of all office correspondence, including the Bulletin, meeting announcements and all other member communications.

Sheila has been with the Association since May 1984, and serves as Executive Assistant to NAWLA President & CEO Nick Kent. She channels the flow of work through the office, maintains the database and record systems, including all member files, and works on special projects such as the Membership Directory, meetings and membership. Sheila manages registration for the NAWLA Annual Meeting and NAWLA Traders Market®. She also provides support to the management staff in the development of Association programs.

Stacey comes to NAWLA with more than ten years experience in association management, meeting planning and educational programming with organizations in Washington, DC and Denver, CO. She is a CMP - Certified Meetings Professional and has an M.A. in Educational and Human Development from The George Washington University. Stacey handles planning the NAWLA Traders Market, the NAWLA Executive Conference, NAWLA Regional Meetings, and all of NAWLA’s educational programs as well. Stacey is the staff liaison to the NAWLA Education Committee and the NAWLA Traders Market Committee.
