Terry J. Atkinson, AVP, Industrial Products, Union Pacific Railroad

Terry Atkinson is currently the AVP – Industrial Products, where he leads a dedicated team of marketing and sales professionals within the construction, forest products, and metals commodity teams. joined UP in 2004 as a Marketing and Sales Intern, and has held various full time roles within the department in both Omaha, NE and Ft Worth, TX. During his career at Union Pacific, he has spent his time leading teams, recruiting new professionals, negotiating contracts and helping customers develop new rail terminals throughout the U.S. Terry is a member and past vice president of UP’s Black Employee Network, as well as a founding board member of the UP Ties (young professionals) organization in 2008.

Ann Baker, Dean, UFP Business School, UFP Industries, Inc.

Ann has a curiosity that can only be satisfied by continuous learning and new experiences. After becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor and earning an MS in Community Counseling, Ann served 11 years as a Pennsylvania high school counselor. Seeking ways to bring her academic experience to the business world Ann joined UFP Industries in 2018. In October 2020, Ann was appointed Dean of UFP Business School, where she continues to shape the lives of students, employees of UFP Industries, and communities nationwide by spearheading the UFP Business School perspective: “Building Your Future. Not Your Debt.”


Nate Jorgenson, CEO & Director, Boise Cascade Company

Nate Jorgensen was named CEO of Boise Cascade Company in March 2020. He became chief operating officer in January 2019, responsible for overseeing the Wood Products and Building Materials Distribution divisions. Prior to his position as COO, he was the senior vice president of the Engineered Wood Products sales and marketing organization. Nate joined Boise Cascade in 2015 after 28 years with Weyerhaeuser, where he held various leadership roles, including vice president of distribution operations. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Wisconsin, and attended the Tuck School of Business Executive Education Program at Dartmouth University.


Mark Lanterman, Chief Technology Officer, Computer Forensic Services

Mark Lanterman is the Chief Technology Officer of Computer Forensic Services. Before entering the private sector, Mark was a member of the U.S. Secret Service Electronic Crimes Taskforce. Mark has 28 years of security and forensic experience and has testified in over 2000 cases. Mark is faculty for the Federal Judicial Center in Washington, D.C., the National Judicial College in Reno, Nevada, the University of Minnesota and the Mitchell Hamline Law School. Mark is a professor in the cybersecurity program at the St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mark has provided training in digital evidence, computer forensics and cyber security to the United States Supreme Court. Mark completed his postgrad studies in cybersecurity at Harvard University and is certified as a Seized Computer Evidence Recovery Specialist (SCERS) by the Department of Homeland Security.

Wendy Minichiello, EWP Sales Director, North America, Weyerhaeuser

Recently recognized as a 2021 Top Women Business Excellence award winner by HBS Dealer, Wendy Minichiello is Weyerhaeuser’s Director of Engineered Wood Sales for North America. She currently supports both the Trus Joist sales and software teams, where she enjoys leveraging her passion for strategy, sales force effectiveness, and the voice of the customer. Wendy earned a BA in English with a specialization in Business Administration from UCLA. With more than twenty years in the wood products and building materials industry, she has held key roles for Weyerhaeuser including VP Home Improvement Warehouse Segment and VP National Accounts.

Drawing from a career and life as diverse as expedition leader, paramedic firefighter, Mt. Everest climber, SWAT team officer, paragliding pilot, and wish grantor, Brian will guide attendees through their own call to adventure during his education session.

Clark Spitzer, Chief Operating Officer, Snavely Forest Products

Clark Spitzer has spent his entire career in the building products industry. He started as a Truss Designer in the Washington DC area in 1983 before moving to Long Island, NY to start a truss plant for a regional building supply dealer. Clark continued his profession as a Regional Sales Manager for Louisiana-Pacific in the early 1990’s, and joined Snavely Forest Products as a branch manager in 1996. Today, Clark is the Chief Operating Officer for Snavely Forest Products, is a member of the NAWLA Executive Committee, Board of Directors and Past Chair of the Traders Market Committee.

Craig Sichling, Vice President, Specialty Sales & Marketing, LP

Craig Sichling joined LP in 2001. He has held a variety of positions within LP from general sales manager of the northeast region to national sales manager and most recently vice president of field sales for the U.S., Canadian and European field sales teams. He assumed his role as vice president of specialty sales and siding marketing in January 2017. Prior to joining LP, Mr. Sichling was vice president of sales and marketing for Focal Point. He has a B.A. from the State University of New York at Oneonta and is a graduate of the Scarlett Leadership Institute.

Roger Welling, VP Dedicated Sales, Ryder Transportation Solutions

Roger brings over 35 years of experience assisting clients with specialized transportation requirements. In his current role as Vice President of Sales for Ryder’s Dedicated Transportation Solutions division, Roger leads a national sales team selling complex asset-based transportation services to medium and large companies across the US. Prior to returning to Ryder after a 15 year hiatus, he was CEO of midsized dedicated contract carrier in Ohio. During his initial career at Ryder he held various roles in sales and sales leadership as well as enterprise sales roles selling all Ryder services to the Food & Beverage industry. Roger received his BS in Finance from California State University, Northridge.

Kent Wheiler, Associate Professor, School of Environmental Forest Sciences, University of Washington

Dr. Kent Wheiler has nearly 35 years experience managing international forestry business operations. Early in his career, Dr. Wheiler earned a B.S. in accounting and worked with Arthur Anderson & Co. He then returned to graduate school, earning a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in marketing at the University of Texas at Austin. Combining his training in accounting and marketing, Dr. Wheiler joined the forestry company Weyerhaeuser and served in various financial, business development, strategic planning, and plantation management roles over 26 years. In 2017, he joined the University of Washington as an Associate Professor and Director of the Center for International Trade in Forest Products (CINTRAFOR). His research is focused on forestry and forest products trade, sustainable raw materials, and global supply chains.
